First
sketch, cleaned up with an eraser on 9x12 paper. Next, I used a 2H pencil
to indent the paper to create some texture in her uniform.
Initial
shading with a 6B pencil and a soft cloth.
A
soft cloth and 8B pencil were used to add some more definition to the uniform.
I used 2B and 6B pencils to add more detail to her face. The shadows on her
skin were created with the soft cloth.
I
used a combination of hard and soft pencils to create texture for the hair,
then blended slightly with a blending stump. Powdered graphite was applied
with a cloth to her uniform. More work on face.
Completed drawing.
I put more detail
to the face and hair. Then I completed the hands and insignia. I wasn't
happy with the darkness of the shadows on the uniform. The powdered graphite
had too much shine, so I added some charcoal to create more contrast in
the darker areas. Finally, I cleaned up and added some highlights with a
rubber eraser.
