Artist Notes: This is drawn on Strathmore Bristol Artagain paper in black. It was created with pastel chalk and colored pencils. I highlighted the feathers with metallic colored pencils.

"Curious Mermaid"

Artist Notes: I created this by first shading it entirely with graphite and white pastel chalk to create the values. I then shaded lightly on top with color using a soft cloth.

Artist Notes: I wanted to capture the old Hollywood glamour with this piece. I thought the film wrap would be a fun and visually interesting addition, although it did take some patience to render. I shaded the edges for a vintage feel.

Artist Notes: This is my first attempt with pastel chalk, and I was pleased with the results. I used some other mediums on her lips and eyes to get the details I wanted.

Artist Notes: I paid special attention to her eyes, as the only visible facial feature, they had to convey all her emotions. I drew the fan by shading the entire area, drawing in the orchids with an eraser, an then shading on top to create the folds.

Artist Notes: Based on a photo I took in Maui. I wanted it to be super realistic, so I added lots of detail to the flower petals.
